Students
National Institute of Technology Goa, like all other NITs in India, enrolls students from all the 29 States and 7 Union Territories for the following programmes:
Every year, students are selected for the admission into B.Tech Programme through CSAB(Central Seat Allocation Board) based on their JEE Main rank and the category they belong to. The competition is stiff; only roughly 30,000 students out of the 13 Lacs of students appearing for the exam get selected into NITs, which ensures that the cream of the nations’ engineering aspirants are admitted. Apart from that, 14 seats have been allocated for students under Direct Admission for Students Abroad (DASA).
Presently, 150 students have enrolled in the 5 following branches of B.Tech Programme of NIT Goa:
- Computer Science and Engineering - 30 Students
- Electronics and Communication Engineering -30 Students
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering - 30 Students
- Civil Engineering -30 Students
- Mechanical Engineering - 30 Students
For M.Tech Programme, the students are selected through CCMT(Centralized Counselling for M.Tech/M.Plan) based on valid GATE Score. Currently, 91 students have enrolled for the M.Tech Programme of NIT Goa in the three following branches:
- VLSI (Dept of ECE) - 30 Students
- Power Electronics and Power Systems (Dept of EEE) - 32 Students
- Computer Science and Engineering (Dept of CSE) - 29 Students
Ph.D.: The degree of Ph.D. is being offered by all the three above mentioned departments along with department of Humanities and Sciences, which include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Economics and English. Research Scholars are selected through CSIR/NBHM/UGC-NET and GATE score. Presently there are 36 research scholars:
- Dept of CSE: 12 Students
- Dept of EEE: 5 Students
- Dept of ECE: 14 Students
- Dept of Humanities and Sciences : 5 Students
